It’s almost February, which means one thing. Hearts are everywhere. With Valentine’s Day approaching in the middle of the month, romance is on everybody’s mind. At Xplorco, we travel, so let’s take a look at eight romantic vacation spots in honor of this Valentine’s Day.

Romantic Getaways

Kauai, Hawaii

Romantic Getaway - Kauai

With brilliant sunsets, picture-perfect beaches and perfect blue skies, it’s hard to beat Kauai. What’s different about Kauai from other Hawaiian islands is that it’s really for the lower maintenance traveler. It’s a bit more rural and with less of the over-the-top luxury you’ll find on the other islands. It’s not that you can’t find that here, but it’s just a little bit less of a tourist attraction and more a place to enjoy the surroundings.

Napa Valley, California

Romantic Getaway - Napa Valley

Vineyards, wine caverns, great restaurants, amazing hotels. That’s what you can find in Napa at the ultimate romantic getaway. The scenery is beautiful and offers the opportunity to basically do anything you could hope for on a vacation that goes even beyond the wine. It’s not a cheap vacation, but it’s one that’s well worth it.

Sedona, Arizona

Romantic Getaway - Sedona

If all Sedona had to offer as far as romantic getaways go was the amazing views, it would be worth it. The red rock and jagged sandstone buttes paired with the seemingly always clear, blue sky looks almost fake because it’s so beautiful. If this was an infomercial, you’d hear “but wait, there’s more.” Spiritualists also come to Sedona to take advantage of the New Age “vortexes” that supposedly have spirt-balancing powers. But, you know, if that’s not your thing there’s still plenty to do other than look at the scenery, such as hiking, pampering days and a lot more.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Romantic Getaway - Jackson Hole

If you’re into pretty much anything outdoorsy, Jackson Hole is the perfect getaway because you can ski, hike, fish and even get a dip in at the Granite Hot Springs. There are also national forests near enough that you can make a day trip or two to see those. It’s not glamorous like Aspen or Lake Tahoe, but it is just so peaceful and beautiful and with enough to do that it’s hard to argue with this as an amazing romantic getaway.

Savannah, Georgia

Romantic Getaway - Savannah

With Spanish moss over the sidewalks and hundreds of historic homes around the entire city, there is plenty of personality in Savannah. There’s shopping and great restaurants and great nightlife as well as the quiet of nearby islands for a bit of a break from the hustle and bustle. Between going to City Market, taking tours of all the history and the aforementioned nightlife, there’s never a dull moment in a Savannah vacation.

Sun Valley, Idaho

Romantic Getaway - Sun Valley

With views of the Smokey and Boulder Mountain ranges, it’s pretty much breathtaking everywhere you turn. And it’s called “Sun Valley” for a reason. It’s sunny a lot, so if you’re looking for beautiful sunrises, sunsets and just generally days of sun, this is definitely the place for you. The mountains and trails are perfect for skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and pretty much everything else you can think to do in the snow while the warmer weather means amazing hiking opportunities and much more.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Romantic Getaway - Gatlinburg

Our very own White Oak Lodge in Gatlinburg is an amazing place to stay for a romantic getaway. It’s great for activity with opportunities to hit the trail on guided hikes to track down waterfalls and wildflowers or to drive through Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There’s also a booming craft distilling scene where you can taste some moonshine right out of the jars.

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Romantic Getaway - Santa Fe

The capital of New Mexico is a vibrant and colorful journey no matter when you go. With great history and culture, there’s always something to go do or see while you’re there. The art galleries are gorgeous, the food is amazing and the views feature the backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, so even when you’re just sitting back and relaxing, you can be staring into beauty the whole time. And if you go, don’t miss out on the legendary trading center. It’s an attraction that everyone who visits needs to check out and not just as a romantic getaway!

Love is in the air in February, but these trips can be more than just romantic getaways, so don’t think you can only go this month. But if you do, it’ll be the time of your life!
